Yoga at Sheffield Buddhist Centre
The type of yoga we teach at the Buddhist Centre is Ashtanga yoga. In this form of yoga the postures are dynamically linked which keeps the body moving in coordination with the breath. This provides a deeper connection with the mind and the postures, and helps maintain fluidity in moving from one posture to the next.
The benefits of this style of yoga are improved circulation; a stronger, more fluid physique; greater flexibility; better concentration and a calmer and more compassionate outlook. It can be particularly suitable for runners and climbers who need to develop flexibility and stamina.
