Mitra means ‘friend’ and refers to someone who has made a commitment, at a special ceremony, to practising as a Buddhist in the FWBO. We provide special events and courses to help mitras deepen their practice and expand their knowledge of Buddhism.

A few of these are available only to people who have taken the further step of asking for ordination in the Western Buddhist Order.
A good opportunity to spend time with other mitras and some of the women’s chapter. Moksalila and Vajratara will create a ritual and meditative context for a shared deepening of Buddhist practice. Details to follow.

Guhyavajra is an experienced Order Member who amongst many things was part of the team training men for Ordination, whilst also being a builder. He will be leading a weekend of reflection and meditation on the Buddha’s fundamental teachings on the mind and the world: the hindrances and the laksanas. Not to be missed.

Kuladitya’s third workshop asks: Could we see life as Padmasambhava sees it - that we already reside in the Copper Coloured Mountain, and that in the Mandala that is our life, we sit within the cremation ground with our back to the stupa, communicating with the Dakinis?
