Chigung (Chi Kung) at Sheffield Buddhist Centre

Chigung (or Chi Kung) is a form of exercise designed to make us feel better: physically and mentally. It looks a bit like Tai Chi and is based on similar principles, but is not used as a martial art, concentrating instead on health and self development with a series of simple but subtly powerful exercises.

These exercises relax and strengthen the body and mind; the aim being to build an inner calm, alertness, and resilience to stress. You donít have to think of yourself as sporty or fit to practice Chigung, anyone of any age can give it a go.

The classes are focussed but light hearted, each one is different while also building a solid core of exercises to do at home if you wish. There is always more to learn with Chigung, so it is never boring, everyone progresses at their own speed on their own path whilst enjoying the company and support of the other class members.

Instructor

Philip Cole (M.R.S.S) is a Shiatsu practitioner and teaches clients specific Chigung exercises to suit their particular problems, often leading to a speedy recovery.
